Gentle Therapeutic Yoga
Service Description
Led by our resident Yoga Therapist, this is a slow, intentional practice designed to help you feel better in your body... especially if you often feel stiff, tight, tired, or overwhelmed. Through gentle movement, breathwork, and guided body awareness, this class supports nervous system regulation, ease of movement, and overall well-being. Guided with a yoga therapy lens, we move at a slower pace with options, support, and space to listen inward. Rather than simply moving through poses, you’ll explore how you move, breathe, and respond; building stability, comfort, and resilience over time. Especially supportive for those navigating stress, feeling disconnected from their body, or unsure if yoga is “for them,” as well as those recovering from injury or living with chronic tension. A Yoga Therapist has been trained to work with the system of yoga to treat specific conditions. Some examples may include physical pain (back pain, shoulder injuries), anxiety disorders, cancer support, PTSD, ESD, fibromyalgia, insomnia, depression, autoimmune diseases, addiction, obesity, the list goes on. Yoga therapy can act as a useful adjunct to the western medical model or as a stand-alone therapy depending on the condition and/or the skill and experience of the Yoga Therapist. The IAYT (International Association of Yoga Therapists) has set standards that have a minimum training time of 800 hours for all Yoga Therapists. This is in addition to the prerequisite of a 200-hour YTT (yoga teacher training).
